No Kings. Only the People.
While this nation celebrates its independence, we cannot ignore the betrayal that unfolded in Washington this week. On a day where we celebrate our nation’s declaration as WE THE PEOPLE, we watch as Congress pads the pockets of billionaires instead of hard working American families. The Big, Beautiful Bill (their words, not ours) passed under the cover of darkness will raise healthcare costs, increase energy costs and leave kids hungry.
Families who are already stretched thin will feel this betrayal for years to come, but we refuse to leave our kids and communities behind.
Let us remember the words of Leader Hakeem Jeffries yesterday, in his record breaking speech on the House Floor, “Press on.”
We will press on, because we are still in fact, the people. And we organize. And we vote.
Congress may have let us down. But we are not done. We are just getting started.
So on this Independence Day, as we remember a revolution born from rejecting tyranny, let that fuel your fire. Let it remind you that defending every child’s chance at a healthy, hopeful future is an act of true patriotism.
Press on.
With unwavering love and power,
