July 21, 2024, BOSTON, MA- The National Parents Union released the following statement following President Joe Biden’s announcement he is stepping down from the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket.

We are filled with deep gratitude for President Biden’s more than five decades of unwavering service to our nation. His dedication, compassion, and resilience have been a guiding light through some of the most challenging times in our country’s history. From his early days in the Senate to his role as President, his commitment to the American people has been evident in every action he has taken.
As parents, families and American citizens, we recognize and deeply appreciate the countless sacrifices President Biden made in the name of public service. His efforts to advance healthcare, education, and economic stability have touched the lives of millions, providing hope and opportunity to those who need it most.
There is no greater illustration of President Biden’s leadership than his decision to step down as candidate. That is a testament to his commitment to the strength and spirit of our democracy.
The next chapter of American history requires a leader who can bridge the current divides and guide us towards a more inclusive and prosperous future.
